About

I’ve always been drawn to stories. As a child, I imagined worlds beyond the classroom walls. As an adult, I’ve learned that imagination isn’t something we grow out of — it’s something we grow into.I create children’s books, artwork and ideas that explore confidence, kindness and becoming who we’re meant to be.Ross King Creative is a space for thoughtful storytelling and building meaningful work.

Bringing financial literacy to life for senior school students

I offer interactive workshop sessions for senior school students built around one simple but powerful question: what do young people actually want to know about money and adult life?
With Finance confirmed as one of the first V Level subjects launching in 2027, financial literacy has never been more relevant in schools. My sessions cover the real-world, practical knowledge that sits alongside any formal qualification — the stuff students genuinely want to understand and that nobody else is teaching them.

Topics already covered in my research and writing include:
• Jobs, careers and following your passion
• Apprenticeships vs university — the real comparison
• Taxes, payslips and how to read them
• Bank accounts, overdrafts and hidden charges
• Credit scores — what they are and why they matter
• Debt, interest and how to avoid the traps
• The three pots savings system for managing money
Topics coming in the next phase — shaped directly by student feedback:
• Renting, deposits and the real cost of a home
• Budgeting on a real salary
• Scams, subscriptions and everyday spending traps
• Insurance, investing and building your future

This is where your students come in. As part of my ongoing research, I'm visiting schools across Havering to run informal Q&A sessions — finding out directly from young people what they want to know. Their responses will directly shape the finished book, giving them a genuine voice in a published work.
Sessions are discussion-based, engaging and require no preparation from staff. They fit naturally into PSHE, Personal Development or an enrichment slot.

"They really loved hearing your stories and learning about how and why you became an author. There was a real buzz about reading and writing afterwards. Thank you for giving up your time — it was such a great experience for the children."
— Ashley Saich, Year 4 Teacher, Literacy & Language Team, The James Oglethorpe Primary School
